This program is designed for the student who wants teacher licensure in Specific Learning Disabilities: Early Adolescence through Adolescence.

NOTE: In addition, one of the two quarters of student teaching must be in Special Education.

NOTE: Students must earn a 2.75 cumulative GPA and a 2.75 GPA in the minor in order to be eligible for teaching certification.

NOTE: Students must earn a grade of B- or above in all special education courses including the quarter of student teaching in Special Education.

NOTE: This minor is restricted to students in the College of Education and Human Sciences.

If students want to add licensure in Specific Learning Disabilities: Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence, they need to take SPED 335 or SPED 404 and SPED 402SPED 300 is not required of students completing this minor.  Education Studies, Option B or C and leads to licensure in Learning Disabilities: Early Adolescence through Adolescence. Students who have graduated from UW-Eau Claire in an EA-A or EC-A program within the past two years are also eligible to complete this minor.
