Exercise Physiology - Master of Science

The Master of Science in Exercise Physiology (MSEP) Accelerated Plan allows qualified undergraduate students to complete the fourth year of a Rehabilitation Science or Exercise Science major while completing the first year of MSEP coursework. The accelerated pathway for the Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology is five years upon matriculation to UW-Eau Claire.

Students who plan to pursue the MSEP Accelerated Plan should add the Pre-Exercise Physiology advising track to their Rehabilitation Science or Exercise Science degree plan early in their time at UW-Eau Claire.  In addition, any student interested in the MSEP Accelerated plan should consult with the MSEP Program Director and their academic advisor to ensure they are on track to apply for the accelerated pathway.  Accelerated coursework is confirmed upon admission to the MSEP degree program and completion of the first term in the MSEP program.  A student will earn a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology degree upon successful completion of the fifth year in the MSEP program.

Admission Requirements:

At the time of admission to the MSEP Accelerated Plan, a student must have:

  • A minimum of 95 earned credits at the end of the 3rd year of the Rehabilitation Science or Exercise Science program (or MSEP Program Director consent).
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 at the end of the 3rd year of the Rehabilitation Science or Exercise Science program.
  • Successful completion of prerequisite courses for the MSEP program.
