Information Systems, Minor

(Code 832-401)

The Information Systems minor helps students complement their primary major with practical technology, data, and communication skills increasingly required across all industries. Students learn how organizations use information systems, data analytics, and digital communication tools to improve operations, support decision-making, and remain competitive in today’s technology-driven environment.

Coursework introduces students to business communication, business programming fundamentals, analytics concepts, business process modeling, and computer networking. Through these experiences, students develop the ability to work effectively with data, understand organizational technology systems, communicate technical ideas clearly, and collaborate in digitally enabled workplaces.

This minor is designed for students from any major who want to strengthen their technological fluency, expand career opportunities, and confidently navigate modern organizational environments shaped by information systems and digital innovation.

The IS minor is available to all UW-Eau Claire students at UW-Eau Claire except information systems majors.
